Mitchell Plateau National Park closed

The Shire of Wyndham has closed Kalumburu Road north of Drysdale Station until further notice due to heavy rainfall in the area.
The Mitchell Plateau National Park is also closed.
DEC will advise when the access status of the park changes.

King Leopold Range Conservation Park open

Mt Hart Road is still closed and will not open until June 1

Fitzgerald River National Park Road Condition Update – 21 May 2013

This is the current status of roads and tracks in the Fitzgerald River National Park.
Point Ann Road 2WD access is CLOSED due to moist soil conditions.
Pabelup Drive (Pt Ann) 2WD access is CLOSED due to moist soil conditions.
Trigelow Beach access (North) 4WD access CLOSED due to erosion caused by heavy seas at the base of the rubber belting, beach access is closed until further notice.
Gordon Inlet Road 4WD access OPEN
Doubtful Island Road 4WD access OPEN
Quaalup South Road 4WD access OPEN
Quaalup/Gairdner Road 2WD access OPEN Quaalup Homestead is open.
Hamersley Drive 2WD access OPEN (partial) The sealed section of Hamersley Drive is open between Hopetoun and Cave Point Road. Please note there is no access to Hamersley Inlet and Dunes area due to current road works. No access from South Coast Hwy to Hopetoun. Camping is still available at Four Mile Beach and Barrens Beach remains open.
Quoin Head Track 4WD access CLOSED due to moist soil conditions.
Pitchie Ritchie Track 4WD access CLOSED due to moist soil conditions.
Moir Track 4WD access CLOSED due to moist soil conditions.
NOTE: The status of these roads could change at short notice or during your visit, after rain. As the website is updated during working hours only, please confirm park status with local DEC staff in the areas that you are intending to visit. Please also be aware of Fitzgerald River National Park Status signs located on roads leading to major park entrances
Help reduce the spread of dieback disease in the park; wash mud from your vehicle before leaving home and where possible avoid wet areas on the roads (without leaving the road).
Caravans not permitted because of narrow and corrugated roads.

Temporary closure of a section of Walpole-Nornalup National Park

The Department of Environment and Conservatgion (DEC) wishes to advise that, in the interest of public safety, a section of the Walpole-Nornalup National Park known as the Ficifolia block, located 15km SE of Walpole will be temporarily closed from 16 May 2013 until further notice for the purpose of implementing a prescribed fire management program in the area.
The area closed is bound by Conspicuous Beach Road, Ficifolia Road, Rame Head Road, Shire Reserve (Peaceful Bay) and the Southern Ocean.
DEC will advise when the area is reopened and apologises for any inconvenience.

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) wishes to advise that Delta Road in Walpole Nornalup National Park will be closed from 9 May 2013 to 1 November 2013 due to expected road conditions during this period.
